Asia-Pacific Industrial Collaboration Summit

In line with the New Southbound Policy, the Administration for Digital Industries, under the Ministry of Digital Affairs has participated in the “Asia-Pacific Industrial Collaboration Summit” since 2017, which focuses on six key countries in the New Southbound Policy: Indonesia, the Philippines, Vietnam, Thailand, Malaysia, and India. The summit focuses on digital transformation, smart cities, green energy, talent development, and the establishment of supply chains tailored to the unique characteristics of each industry. Now in its 10th year, the summit has attracted over 10,000 participants. Taiwanese businesses have signed more than 100 bilateral memorandums of understanding with these six countries, generating substantial business opportunities for the industry.

The Taiwan-Vietnam Smart Cities Sub-Forum was held on July 29, 2025, in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam. The forum focused on application areas such as smart transportation, smart commerce, and smart energy, and invited representatives from businesses, trade associations, and industry professionals from both Taiwan and Vietnam to participate. It also arranged for Taiwanese companies to visit local Vietnamese enterprises to facilitate exchanges.

The Taiwan-Malaysia Smart Cities Sub-Forum was held on August 21, 2025, at the Taipei International Convention Center. The forum focused on application areas such as AI, smart retail, and smart healthcare. A total of 35 participants, including corporate representatives, trade associations, and industry professionals from Taiwan and Malaysia, were invited to share insights on exchanges and cooperation between the two countries’ smart city-related industries. Through business matching activities, participating Taiwanese and Malaysian companies were able to discuss business opportunities following the event.

The Taiwan-Thailand Smart City Sub-Forum was held in Bangkok, Thailand, on September 9, 2025. The forum focused on application areas such as smart agriculture, smart energy, and smart transportation, and invited 10 Taiwanese companies to participate.

The Taiwan-Indonesia Smart Cities Sub-Forum was held on July 8, 2025, on Batam Island, Indonesia. The sub-forum focused on four key application areas: smart agriculture, smart energy, smart manufacturing, and smart transportation. Industry representatives from both Taiwan and Indonesia were invited to the event to engage in in-depth discussions on the practical applications of smart cities across these sectors, as well as current technological developments and future trends.
