e-Formula Technologies Inc. integrates comprehensive energy solutions and provides smart energy management and efficiency systems in Bohol Province, Philippines, including solar power plants, waste-to-energy, biomass energy, wind and hydro power, energy storage systems, and electric vehicles. This is a major project fully supported by the local government of Bohol Province, led by Governor Aristotle Aumentado and the municipal mayors, and it has received endorsement from the Bohol Investment Board. The project will provide energy management solutions to meet the electricity demand of Bohol Province, while promoting the adoption of electric vehicles to modernize the transportation system. The project will contribute to Bohol Province’s goals for smart and sustainable development.

SIPA worked with e-Formula Technologies Inc., supporting the company in pursuing international business opportunities through three main approaches: international exposure, partner matchmaking, and business connections. On August 22, 2023, SIPA successfully helped e-Formula sign the Smart Energy System Integration Export Collaboration Agreement in the Philippines. The project, valued at PHP 1 billion (approximately NT$600 million), involves seven partner companies: AUO (Taiwan), Delta Electronics (Taiwan), Chodai (Japan), JFE (Japan), tron-e (Taiwan), hiPower GreenTech (Taiwan), and e-Formula (Philippines).

This project is a 25-year investment and collaboration initiative, in which e-Formula Technologies collaborates with companies across various energy sectors to provide the Bohol provincial government with comprehensive smart green energy solutions. Once the system is fully implemented, it will establish an overseas operational model for system integration, enabling continued energy services for Bohol and allowing the integrated solutions to be closely aligned with the client’s business operations.

Bohol Province in the Philippines is well known for its tourism, which contributes significantly to the province’s economic development. Governor Aristotle Aumentado is also a strong supporter of green energy development. During his tenure as a member of the House of Representatives, he sponsored House Bill No. 3710, which was passed in October 2019 to oppose the establishment of coal-fired power plants in Bohol Province. The project aligns with Governor Aristotle Aumentado’s vision.

establishes a robust information security framework.
Smart solutions are also a key area Bohol Province aims to develop in the future. When relevant Bohol officials visited Taiwan in August 2023, they expressed that the current collaboration with e-Formula Technologies focuses on smart energy systems, and they hope to expand cooperation with Taiwan in other smart sectors, such as smart tourism, shared electric mobility, and smart government initiatives. Building on the existing partnership, more Taiwanese digital system integration solutions are expected to be introduced, further deepening bilateral cooperation in the digital services. Although this project has already achieved its performance targets for the current year, future efforts will continue to maintain contact with Bohol Province and conduct on-site visits to better understand the province’s actual needs for smart solutions. The project will also assist Taiwanese companies in planning appropriate solutions, further facilitating the international export of system integration solutions.
