To support the international expansion of Taiwan’s digital industry, the Administration for Digital Industries (ADI), led a delegation of Taiwanese companies to Malaysia on September 3–4 to participate in the 2024 8th Taiwan–Malaysia Industrial Collaboration Summit. The delegation organized a Smart Cities sub-forum and hosted Taiwan Digital Day, actively engaging in exchanges with Malaysian counterparts and exploring potential future collaboration opportunities and models, with the goal of helping Taiwan’s digital industry enter global markets and expand overall market scale.

To promote Taiwan’s high-quality digital solutions, Deputy Director-General Lin Chun-Hsiu led the delegation together with the Institute for Information Industry and representatives from seven Taiwanese digital companies, including EnSense, JGB Smart Property, JORJIN Technologies, Link Join Agricultural Technology, Lydsec, Turn Cloud Technology, and Wavenet Technology. These companies cover multiple fields such as smart surveillance, property management, smart retail, smart agriculture, sustainable energy, and smart business, creating more opportunities for connection and collaboration between Taiwanese and Malaysian enterprises.

On the morning of September 3, as part of the main agenda of the “2024 Taiwan–Malaysia Industrial Collaboration Summit” organized by the National Federation of Industries (NFI) of Taiwan and the Federation of Malaysian Manufacturers, DIPA hosted the Smart Cities sub-forum. The forum focused on three key areas: smart agriculture, smart healthcare, and smart retail. Representatives from Taiwan and Malaysia’s smart city solution providers exchanged insights on applications and future development directions. The event also facilitated the signing of memorandums of understanding (MoUs) between the Taiwan Energy Digital Transformation Industry–Academia Alliance and the Malaysian Green Business Association, as well as between Chaowang Technology and Malaysia’s Easystore, laying a foundation for bilateral digital industry cooperation.

On September 4, ADI hosted “Taiwan Digital Day,” where the seven participating Taiwanese companies presented business proposals (demo pitches) and participated in business matching sessions, showcasing Taiwan’s advantages and capabilities in digital solutions to international partners. The event attracted over 30 local Malaysian companies, including Trinix, Datasonic, Ofisgate, AppAsia, and UnBound, conducting a total of 70 matching sessions. This strengthened in-depth dialogue and cooperation opportunities between Taiwanese and Malaysian industries.

Participating company representatives noted that the delegation allowed Taiwanese firms to connect with potential local partners in Malaysia and establish relationships with major local system integrators and telecom operators, including TM One, as well as field application partners such as Mana Mana Group and the IOI Group, laying a solid foundation for entering the Malaysian market. Some companies also arranged individual business meetings, opening opportunities for concrete commercial collaborations. Additionally, the delegation enabled Taiwanese companies to network among themselves, forming important cross-industry partnerships to jointly plan cross-sector collaborations and market expansion initiatives, which became a key outcome and highlight of the Taiwan–Malaysia event.

Deputy Director-General Lin Chun-Hsiu emphasized that many Taiwanese digital solutions have potential for overseas deployment. He expressed the hope that this visit would deepen Taiwan–Malaysia industrial cooperation, create more cross-border collaboration opportunities in the digital sector, and establish digital technology as the strongest bridge for bilateral cooperation.
