The 2025 Taiwan-Vietnam Industrial Collaboration Summit: Smart City Sub-Forum, organized by Administration for Digital Industries (ADI), Ministry of Digital Affairs, was held on July 29 in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam. The event was followed by Taiwan Digital Day in Vietnam and a matchmaking session on July 30, bringing together nine Taiwanese companies, including HwaCom Systems, Wavenet Technology, EUPFIN Technology, GUS Technology, YC Consultants, Lydsec Digital Technology, ARBOR Technology, Kiao Farming, and WebComm Technology. The matchmaking session facilitated HwaCom Systems and Vietnamese system integrator Alta Software to sign a memorandum of understanding (MoU) on July 29 at the Taiwan-Vietnam Industrial Collaboration Forum. The MoU focused on smart transportation, particularly smart traffic signals and Internet-of-Vehicles applications. Besides, Taiwanese companies were arranged to visit local Vietnamese companies for exchanges on July 31.

The forum featured three main themes: textiles, smart machinery, and smart city applications, with a focus on two key issues: AI-driven digital transformation and net-zero sustainability. The forum aimed to deepen Taiwan-Vietnam supply chain collaboration and strengthen international competitiveness. It was jointly organized by the Chinese National Federation of Industries (CNFI), Industrial Technology Research Institute, Institute for Information Industry, Taiwan Textile Federation, and Metal Industries Research & Development Centre. Business representatives from Taiwan and Vietnam were invited for in-depth exchanges. CNFI Deputy Convener Dai Hong-Yi led the Taiwanese delegation, and together with Vietnam Chamber of Commerce and Industry Chairman Pham Tan Cong, delivered remarks at the main forum.

Dai Hong-Yi pointed out that Vietnam benefits from Taiwan’s technology and expertise, while Taiwan relies on Vietnam’s market scale, manufacturing capacity, and regional advantage. Vietnam and Taiwan are complementary and mutually beneficial, making the two indispensable partners in the Asia-Pacific supply chain. The forum also facilitated the signing of three MoUs, demonstrating the strong consensus and determination of both sides toward industrial upgrading and transformation, and reflecting a deep partnership built on inseparable ties.

With more than 200 representatives and experts from Taiwan and Vietnam, the forum showcased the joint commitment and action of both countries to building a green and digital future together, injecting strong momentum and innovation into regional economic development.
